Topic: The “L” word

Love symbolizes the union of two becoming one. It is the reason to wake up every morning. It makes you get out of your bed, get ready for work knowing you are doing something productive in your life for someone other than yourself. It makes you feel important, useful and basically ‘loved’. Love gives you hope for the future and solutions to every problem. Love gives you a ‘high’ feeling, better than consuming any form of drugs. Love lifts your spirit and makes you see things beyond ‘the box’. It makes you feel that any accomplishment is possible. Love gives you a sense of support and safe feeling. To have someone to love is the best thing that could happen to any being. Love is unexplainable and makes you do things you never thought possible.

However, love could pierce you like a knife through your heart. It could make you go cold and numb when betrayed. It could make you regret the day you were ever born. It could hurt you so much deep inside that you feel like ending it all. It could make you cry all the time as memories come flooding through. It could cause so many unanswered questions. It could  make you loose all hope in yourself and in the future. It could destroy you and bring your esteem to the dumps. It could basically kill your soul and make you lifeless though you are still breathing. Love may seem as a cruel joke but still many choose to experience it…..I wonder why….
